Join our team as an night shift, full-time, Cedar Creek Lake Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) in Gun Barrel City, TX. Get to Know Your Team: UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current Texas RN license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required within 14 days of hire and before providing direct patient care
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation
Nice To Haves
- One year of emergency nursing experience
- Two years of acute care nursing experience
- CEN
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
Responsibilities
- Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
- Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
- Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
