About The Position

As an RN in Endoscopy, you will assume responsibility to lead the Endoscopy patient care team in providing quality patient care. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care from admission to discharge. Assists the physician with diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopic procedures and monitors the physiological status of the patient throughout the pre, intra and post-procedure periods. Maintains departmental on-call responsibilities during off-shifts, weekends and holidays, on a rotating basis. Acts as a role model to staff members and directs, assigns and supervises ancillary staff team members in providing the appropriate level of care most efficiently. Is able to effectively manage the team work concept and remains flexible in response to changes. Demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based practice and performs by the philosophy, established policies and procedures, and standards of the Nursing Division, Endoscopy Department, and the Hospital.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Massachusetts RN Licensure
  • Basic Life Support (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA)

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Previous Endoscopy, ED, Surgical &/or ICU/CCU experience preferred
  • Previous IV insertion experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with Procedural Sedation preferred
