About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Pre/Post in Endoscopy. This is a Full Time, Day shift in Charlottesville, VA! Schedule: Five 8 hour shifts within operating hours of 630AM to 430PM Monday to Friday. Varying start times. No nights, weekends, or holidays! Sign on Bonus of 15,000 available for qualified candidates Endoscopy Unit: Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital’s Digestive Care Center’s board-certified gastroenterologists, including two Gastroenterology physicians and a colorectal surgeon, treat a variety of diseases affecting the gallbladder, liver, mouth, stomach, intestines, pancreas, colon, and esophagus. The department sees an average of 16-18 procedures per day, both ambulatory and inpatient. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

  • Degree in Registered Nursing required
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • Team work and communication skills required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN Preferred
  • Previous Endoscopy experience preferred
  • 18 months of procedural nursing experience preferred
  • Experience in Operating room or sterile settings preferred
