The role of the Registered Nurse reports to the Operations Manager and Director of Nursing. This position is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the total nursing care of assigned patients including assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation. This position is responsible for delegating to and supervising the job classes of student nurse, ED Tech II, phlebotomists, paramedics, and unit secretaries. If in the role of clinical coordinator will be responsible for delegating to other RNs. This position assists in the orientation of new staff and clinical supervision of EMT, paramedic, and nursing students. This position assists in achieving patient quality of care, national patient safety, regulatory agency, and budgetary goals.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Arkansas Registered Nurse license & CPR, required.
  • ACLS within 90 days of hire, required.
  • PALS within 18 months of hire, required.
  • This position requires a moderate sedation and dysrhythmia course, and TNCC within 12 months of date of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an acute care setting
  • National Certification and ASLS is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a comprehensive and accurate patient assessment using evidence-based assessment tools
  • Provides nursing care according to plan and undertakes clinical practice skills in a competent and safe manner
  • Identifies changes in patient condition and reports to appropriate providers in a timely manner
  • Initiates and monitors care that patients receive
  • Maintains patients’ medical records through complete and accurate documentation
  • Evaluates patient needs and communicates to care team as appropriate
