We’re looking for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse who is ready to jump into one of the most dynamic, high-energy, and rewarding areas in healthcare. Schedule: This position will be working 0.9 FTE (72 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day/evening/night shift and will also work every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
Position Overview
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you’ll:
Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate individualized nursing care
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care
Respond to emergent and high-acuity situations with professionalism and clinical excellence
Serve a diverse patient population from newborns to older adults
Follow nursing best practices, hospital policies, and the MN Nurse Practice Act
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Requirements

• Current Minnesota RN license (or eligible at time of hire)
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required within the first year of employment

Nice To Haves

• Emergency Department clinical or capstone experience strongly preferred.
• BSN

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
• Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
• Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
• Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
• Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
• Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
