About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Full Time New Grad Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department in Charlottesville, VA! Hours: This is a three 12-hour shift position from 7p to 7a with Required call. Rotation or Day shift hours may be required for training. Required Call : Full Time nurses have 16 hours of required call per 6 weeks Orientation: New Grad Registered Nurses can expect orientation of 18 weeks on the unit. Sign on bonus up to $7,500 available for qualified new grad candidates! Emergency Department: The Main ED at SMJH sees between 70 and 100 patients per day. This well-supported department is centered around teamwork and patient- first mindset. In an emergency, quick access to skilled care makes all the difference. General Nursing Orientation Specialty Clinical Track Residency Professional Development Sessions Mentoring and Unit-based Preceptor The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas

Requirements

  • Students in process of obtaining Degree in Registered Nursing
  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Students in process of obtaining an RN License
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
  • PALS required prior to completion of orientation
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • None required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN
  • Critical care experience in hospital preferred or previous ED Tech experience
  • Capstone in Emergency Department
