About The Position

Cedar Park Med is hiring experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) night shift assignment. This role requires strong pediatric emergency nursing experience, formal triage training, and the ability to deliver high-acuity care with minimal orientation and supervision in a fast-paced ED environment. Schedule / Shift Night shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Every other weekend and some holidays required required 13 weeks assignment with possible extension Hiring for both local and traveler positions! Only candidates outside a 50-mile radius qualify for traveler roles. Rates vary based on experience and whether the position is local or traveler. Requirements

  • Current New York State RN license/registration
  • BLS certification (must be able to be re-certified)
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience (within the past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and level as the hospital
  • Majority of experience must be in a Pediatric Emergency Department
  • Must have strong triage skills and be formally triage trained

Nice To Haves

  • Adult ED experience (in addition to Pediatric ED experience)
  • Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience
  • Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Records

Responsibilities

  • Perform the majority of patient care skills required in a pediatric emergency setting with minimal orientation and supervision
  • Conduct strong nursing assessments appropriate to ED acuity and specialty
  • Provide safe, effective nursing care for pediatric emergency patients
  • Apply formal triage training and strong triage skills to support patient flow and prioritization
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary ED team to support patient care delivery
