About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department at Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley provides direct patient care in a fast-paced environment, practicing within the scope of the California Nursing Practice Act. This part-time evening position involves assessing patients, coordinating care, and educating patients and families to manage their health effectively. The RN is responsible for implementing and evaluating care plans, ensuring patient safety, and participating in departmental goals and committees.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of one-year prior acute care Registered Nurse experience required.
• Current CA R.N. License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• Relevant departmental certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients by collecting and documenting data through interviews and physical assessments.
• Determine nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
• Monitor and evaluate patient data based on stability and care needs.
• Safely perform and document care plans using required nursing procedures.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and monitor for adverse responses.
• Educate patients and families on self-care and illness prevention.
• Recognize and communicate ethical and legal issues related to patient care.
• Attend meetings and serve on departmental committees as assigned.
