About The Position

Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Arlington: 800 W. Randol Mill Road Arlington, Texas 76012. Work hours: Full-Time (36 Hours a week) Mid Shift from 11a-11p - 3/12 hour shifts per week. Department highlights: 50 bed ED which includes our vertical treatment area that is called the JET (joint evaluation and treatment). Level 3 trauma center. Chest pain, CHF and stroke accredited through TJC and received a gold plus level (the highest level there is) for all 3 programs. Magnet facility.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days required
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• PALS - within 90 days of hire
• TNCC - within 12 months of hire
• ATCN - Advanced Trauma Care Nurse – within 12 months of hire
• 1 year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
• At least 1 year of ER or Critical Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
