Registered Nurse (RN) – Electrophysiology Lab Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Friday (8-hour shifts) or Monday–Thursday (10-hour shifts) Occasional late stay and schedule flexibility required Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our Electrophysiology (EP) Lab team. In this role, you will assist in complex cardiac procedures, provide high-quality patient care, and collaborate closely with cardiologists and interdisciplinary team members in a fast-paced, specialized environment.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Experience in critical care or electrophysiology preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise in electrophysiology procedures
  • Must maintain a current CPR certification from American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care required. Prefer ICU/Emergency Are
  • BSN required within 3 years of hire.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License

Responsibilities

  • Assist cardiologists during electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, cryoablations, and pacemaker/ICD implant procedures
  • Perform circulating duties and monitor patient hemodynamics throughout procedures
  • Prepare and manage equipment, supplies, and procedural setup
  • Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-procedure nursing assessments
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition per physician’s orders and protocols
  • Identify and address patient care needs throughout the procedural process
  • Administer moderate sedation and cardiac medications, including antiarrhythmics and vasopressors, in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies
  • Monitor patient response to medications and intervene as needed
  • Educate patients and families on EP procedures and recovery expectations
  • Provide emotional support
  • Maintain a safe and sterile procedural environment
  • Operate specialized EP lab equipment and adhere to radiation safety protocols
  • Accurately document all patient care activities in the electronic medical record
