Schuyler Ridge is seeking a dedicated and experienced Per Diem Nurse Educator to support staff development and provide hands-on education for our clinical teams, with a strong focus on onboarding and training Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality resident care through staff competency, compliance, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Valid NYS RN license
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program
  • 3-5 Years related experience in Long term care facility as staff development coordinator (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Group and curriculum development skills required.
  • Familiarity with DOH regulations and survey preparation.
  • Must enjoy teaching and be comfortable working with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate orientation, skills validation, and ongoing education for CNAs and nursing staff.
  • Provide hands-on coaching on clinical skills, resident care procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with CNA training, competency evaluations, and support for new hires entering the CNA pathway.
  • Partner with leadership and unit managers to identify training needs and reinforce best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of education, competencies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and infection control standards.
