About The Position

Baptist Health invasive cardiac services offers compassionate care, advanced treatment, and research across three units: the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and Cardiovascular Observation Unit. Invasive Cardiac Services include a wide range of procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, percutaneous catheter interventions, cardiac MEMs, interventional neurology, interventional radiology, cardiac ablations, pacemakers/defibrillators, left atrial appendage occlusion devices, loop recorder implants, transesophageal echocardiograms, and electrical cardioversions. The cardiovascular observation unit also functions as the preoperative and postoperative area. At Baptist Health, the focus is on treating the whole person, providing hope and strength to patients. Operating Room Nurses are responsible for providing care and support to patients before, during, and after surgery, utilizing clinical decision-making that incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky
  • Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university
  • Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
  • Applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date if not already certified
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months for experienced nurses and 1 year for new graduates

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU, CCU, or cardiovascular nursing experience preferred
