The Registered Nurse on the Critical Care Stepdown/ICU assumes the accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients including ICU and Critical Care Stepdown. The RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse functions as a health team member through independent, interdependent and dependent roles within the health care system. Serving as the patient's advocate, the RN assumes responsibility and accountability for nursing care for patients of various ages as defined by the department scope of service. Grand View Health's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 26 bed unit that provides comprehensive Intensive Care and Critical Care Stepdown care for patients with complex health problems. The unit also cares for seriously ill or injured patients who require close observation and constant care. Schedule: 3 nights week, 7:00 pm - 7:30 am, every third weekend and every other holiday.
