About The Position

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, acting as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units, determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs, developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Essential functions include collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team, conducting initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzing assessment data, creating a plan of care, implementing treatment, evaluating treatment effectiveness, serving as the point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments, acting as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department, and administering medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • 1 year of RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
  • 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting
