POSITION PURPOSE Full-Time Nurse Coordinator within the Infusion Clinic to support day to day operational issues and will serve as a unit resource and leader. The Infusion Clinic in Ann Arbor sees on average 650 patients per month & 1200 distinct patient visits. AA averages 70 pts a day. The Nurse Coordinator role is critical to the flow & success of the infusion clinic. They oversee the scheduling of patients, review their treatment plans, labs, ensure patients are appropriate to treat, make assignments, work to accommodate same day requests for treatment. The selected candidate will also work as a liaison between staff, providers & other departments, collect metrics for the clinic, provide service recovery to patients & families & act as an advocate for patients and staff. Full-time position scheduled 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Experience: Minimum of three years staff experience. One-year related practice experience in clinical area. Certification/Licensure: Current Michigan RN License WHAT YOU WILL DO Leads, facilitates and addresses day-to-day operational issues and communication between nursing and other departments. Maintains ongoing dialogue with the Nurse Manager regarding unit operations. Point person for information and problem solving for unit, medical, interdisciplinary staff, and volunteers. • Rounds daily to assess patient experience and quality of care Actively participates in or leads daily huddles Participates in patient care activities as determined by unit needs and demonstrates RN competencies. Demonstrates knowledge about unit budget and volume adjusted staffing model and actively supports appropriate decisions. Participates in patient care activities as determined by unit needs and demonstrates RN competencies Provides formal feedback to staff through SJMHS Performance Development process. Interviews, develops, and evaluates staff performance in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. Promotes environment that supports remarkable patient care experience. Role models clinical excellence. Anticipates and addresses patient/family/visitor concerns in collaboration with caregiver and nurse manager. Supports and role models purposeful hourly rounding. Implement appropriate service recovery strategies. Actively leads staff to implement new initiatives. Coaches, mentors and supports colleagues to be effective patient advocates. Supports staff in using crucial conversations to interact directly with other disciplines. Collaborates with unit leadership to create a culture of safety within work group that invites open and honest sharing of ideas and feedback. Collaborates with unit leadership to achieve unit and organizational quality improvement and outcome-based initiatives. In collaboration with Nurse Manager, holds staff accountable for compliance with SJM Hospitals Clinical Standards of care and policies and procedures.
