About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Medical Step-Down Unit (MSD) involves providing an intermediate level of care between the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Medical-Surgical Unit. The unit serves a variety of patients with complex medical needs, including those with renal failure, advanced respiratory illness, and sepsis. Nurses in this unit are responsible for critical care assessments, patient education, and monitoring, and must be oriented in the MICU and ACLS certified. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to stabilize patients and promote wellness.
