About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at TidalHealth is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring additional observation and treatment after their visit to the Emergency Department. This role involves developing and implementing patient care plans, acting as a patient advocate, and educating patients and families on self-care issues. The CDU RN will work in a dynamic environment that includes continuous telemetry monitoring and may involve critical infusions.

Requirements

• Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of permanent residency.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification to be obtained during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process.
• Act as a patient advocate and provide direct care and support to patients.
• Educate patients and families on significant self-care issues.
• Utilize equipment and technology skillfully and competently in nursing procedures.
• Manage the inventory, distribution, and delivery of medications as required.
