About The Position

Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland, a part of Christiana Care Health System is seeking an RN to work in the Clinical Decision Unit team. In this position, you will work in various units and learn valuable skills. The nurse uses the standards of practice and professional performance with assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to the Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. The staff nurse is a licensed RN who is responsible for providing safe, effective nursing care to patients using the nursing process and aligning with accepted standards of progressive care nursing and the policies and procedures of Union Hospital. The RN administers monitors, and documents medications and treatments within the scope of practice. The RN monitors and reports expected and adverse reactions to treatments, procedures and medications. The RN provides individualizing care, collaborating with patient, family and doctor. The RN is responsible for coordinating and giving to the commitment of providing a safe and secure unit for patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Maryland RN license or license from a compact state
  • American Heart Association BLS required
  • American Heart Association ACLS required within 1 year of start date
  • NIH Stroke certification required within 90 days of start date
