About The Position

The Clinical Coordinator provides unit-based leadership and support to employees, delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and prioritizing patient needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. This role coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates care provided by health team members. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the Clinical Coordinator conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzes data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates its effectiveness. They administer medications safely, consistent with the State of Ohio Nursing Practice Act and Mercy Health policies. The position involves providing leadership to staff in a collaborative environment that fosters job satisfaction, education, empowerment, recognition, and innovative thinking. Responsibilities also include assessing and maintaining staffing levels responsive to patient care needs, optimizing productivity, providing coaching and performance feedback, communicating job standards, leading regular meetings, and fostering effective communication. The Clinical Coordinator acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement and incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery. Requirements

  • Current nursing license in the State of Ohio
  • BLS required (for Med Surg/Telemetry)

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • ACLS encouraged (for Med Surg/Telemetry)
  • Hold national certification in clinical specialty or leadership within 6 months of eligibility preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities
