About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator will provide unit-based leadership and support to employees, delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment. This role involves identifying and determining the priority of patients' problems/needs, evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care, coordinating, providing, and directing patient teaching activities, and coordinating the care provided by health team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • At least one year of experience as a RN in an acute environment.
  • Current nursing license in the State of Ohio.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Hold national certification in clinical specialty or leadership within 6 months of eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Administer medications safely in accordance with the State of Ohio Nursing Practice Act and Mercy Health policies.
  • Provide leadership to staff in a collaborative environment that fosters job satisfaction, education, empowerment, and recognition.
  • Assess and maintain staffing levels responsive to patient care needs and optimize productivity.
  • Provide coaching and ongoing performance feedback to staff.
  • Communicate job standards and expectations clearly to team members.
  • Lead regular meetings with employees to foster effective communication.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
  • Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
