More about our team The ASU/PACU team is a fast-paced, dynamic unit that thrives on collaboration and high-quality patient care. We offer a flexible schedule with four 10-hour shifts and on-call opportunities, supporting a healthy work-life balance while working alongside a skilled and supportive team. How you’ll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Coordinates the Patient Care Team’s delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patient’s spiritual and cultural differences in accordance with the PA State Board of Nursing Licensure requirements and ANA Scope of Stand of Practice. Provides patient assessment throughout patient stay and maintains a therapeutic partnership with patient, family and caregivers. Initiates the individualized patient plan of care within the EPIC system (IPOC). Collaborates with physicians as part of the interdisciplinary team. Is knowledgeable regarding patient condition, completes patient assessment and reports abnormal findings to the Physician. Reports patient’s status and anticipates situations that prevent/minimize adverse outcomes, promoting patient safety. Implements the interventions identified in the established plan of care and collaborate with members of the Patient Care Team. Demonstrates annual competencies. Completes annual required education, CPR and ACLS. Completes yearly medication and dysrhythmia examination with a passing score greater than 84%. Read and completes a minimum of four (4) age specific competencies yearly. Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and employee-related information. Maintains accountability and productivity for appropriate staffing, following the flexible-staffing plan. Attends and participates at a minimum of six (6) staff meeting annually. Reads all staff meeting minutes when not able to attend. Maintains proficiency in all aspects of Conemaugh Connect/EPIC. Participates in Process Improvement utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodology to improve patient outcomes. Commits to Code of Conduct and Commitments to Excellence. Understands, communicates, and supports the organizations compensation philosophy, policies, plans and programs. Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of patient’s rights and patient responsibilities. Actively participates with the development and implementation of unit specific evidenced-based initiatives to improve the outcome of nurse sensitive indicators. Attends educational sessions as directed by the nurse manager to gain knowledge about new treatment options, procedures, or equipment. Timely renewal of PA State RN licensure. Performs proper hand hygiene. Participates in orientation and provides in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department/services. What we’re looking for Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school. Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • One-year acute care experience
  • CPR certification
  • Basic dysrhythmia course, ACLS, Basic Trauma nurse course, Critical Care Course or acquired within 1 year

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Trauma Nurse Course or acquired within 3 years
  • ICU/DEM/PACU/ASU experience preferred
