Registered Nurse (RN) Circulator
About The Position
Boone Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (Circulator) to join our Surgical Services team full-time. The Circulating RN plays a vital role in the operating room, ensuring that all aspects of patient care, surgical preparation, and intraoperative support are delivered safely and efficiently. This role requires critical thinking, attention to detail, and strong collaboration with the surgical team. Who We Are Boone Memorial Health (BMH) is a growing, rural Critical Access Health System based in Madison, West Virginia. At the center of our organization is a 25-bed inpatient hospital with a 24/7 Emergency Department, designated as a Level IV Trauma Center. We serve our community through a network of outpatient clinics and specialty services throughout Boone County and the surrounding region. Requirements
- Current West Virginia RN license in good standing
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to emergent situations
- Commitment to patient advocacy, safety, and high-quality surgical care
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in perioperative or circulating nurse role preferred
Responsibilities
- Act as the patient advocate during surgical procedures, ensuring safety and comfort
- Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, and consent documentation
- Maintain a sterile environment and manage operating room setup
- Provide instruments, supplies, and support to surgeons and scrub staff
- Document intraoperative care, including counts, specimens, and patient status
- Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical team members for optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor and enforce adherence to infection control and surgical safety protocols
