About The Position

SOU Charge Position Highlights: Job Type: Full-Time Location: Community Hospital/SOU Application Deadline: Open until December 1, 2025 Bonus: $30,000 (2 years of nursing experience required for eligibility for bonus) Responsibilities: Shared Governance Participation: Actively engage in shared governance committees to contribute to decision-making regarding nursing practices, patient care protocols, and unit policies, fostering a collaborative environment for continuous improvement in the Short Stay Outpatient Unit. Scheduling and Staffing Oversight: Collaborate with management and staff to assist in the creation and maintenance of nursing schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage while considering patient volume, acuity, and staff preferences. Address staffing challenges and promote a healthy work-life balance for staff. Patient Triage and Assignment Management: Oversee the triage of patients based on acuity and procedural needs. Manage nursing assignments within the unit to ensure a smooth workflow and optimal patient care. Ensure that each patient’s needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. Emergency Response Leadership: Lead nursing staff during emergencies or unexpected events, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently, staffing levels are adequate, and emergency protocols are followed to provide high-quality patient care during critical situations. Patient Monitoring and Care Coordination: Ensure effective use of patient monitoring systems for patients undergoing procedures, assessing any changes in condition and promptly coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to adjust care plans and interventions as necessary. Education and Staff Development: Coordinate and facilitate ongoing education and training for nursing staff in the Short Stay Outpatient Unit. Focus on enhancing clinical skills, ensuring familiarity with new protocols, equipment, and patient care strategies to enhance safety and quality of care. Quality Improvement Initiatives: Participate in performance improvement activities focused on enhancing the quality of care in the SOU, including monitoring clinical outcomes, data collection, and incorporating evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and satisfaction. Patient and Family Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for patients and their families, addressing concerns, providing information, and ensuring clear communication between the patient, family, and healthcare team to ensure a positive care experience and improve patient satisfaction. Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive, coordinated care throughout the patient’s visit to the Short Stay Outpatient Unit. Actively contribute to patient rounds and discussions to optimize treatment plans. Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification Compensation: $38.00 - $43.70 per hour, depending on education and experience.
