About The Position

The Charge Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for unit operational activities. This role involves coordinating nursing and interprofessional team members to foster an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice and customer satisfaction. The Charge Nurse adjusts schedules and patient assignments based on changes in acuity, patient population, resources, and care design. Additionally, this position provides supervision of staff, clinical support, and assumes management responsibilities in the absence of the nurse manager or clinical care leader.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN must be obtained within 2 years of hire).
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia.
• 18-24 months of experience in nursing with knowledge of clinical, psychological, and pathophysiological theories related to nursing diagnosis and treatment.
• Knowledge of nursing policies & procedures, standards, systems, and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience in a charge nurse position or supervisory position preferred.
