About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the CDU at Advocate Sherman Hospital is responsible for delivering and coordinating patient-centered care during the night shift. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. The RN will work collaboratively to support patients' transitions to other healthcare systems or home communities, while adhering to established standards and protocols.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current IL RN license.
• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with an agreement to enroll in a BSN completion program within four years for nurses with less than 12 months of experience.
• Current AHA CPR certification.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in direct patient care for more than 12 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate patient-centered care across the continuum.
• Utilize assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in patient care.
• Create a safe patient environment and enhance the patient experience.
• Respond to patients in a timely manner and access all areas of the unit.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients in emergencies.
