About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab This position is eligible for a $7,500 sign on bonus, half to be paid after 6 months, half after 1 year. Good Samaritan University Hospital Medical Center is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. Requirements

  • Passion for cardiology
  • 1+ years of experience in a Procedural or Critical Care Unit (CCU, ICU, CTICU, CVICU, etc.) preferred
  • Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification required from the American Heart Association, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall care for patients undergoing cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. This includes sedation, preservation of the sterile field, ACLS management, documentation, etc.
  • Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.
