About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab at Atrium Medical Center provides services of invasive and noninvasive procedures and immediate post procedure care. Services include Left and Right Cardiac Catheterization, temporary pacemaker insertion, intra aortic balloon therapy, Impella Left heart support device, transesophageal echocardiogram, implantable cardiac devices, cardioversion, pericardiocentesis, diagnostic peripheral angiogram, peripheral and coronary interventions, Tilt table testing, Electrophysiology studies, Ablations for Arrhythmia, and Intracardiac Echo (ICE). The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing.
  • Valid Ohio RN license.
  • Prior critical care experience as an RN.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services of invasive and noninvasive procedures and immediate post procedure care.
  • Perform Left and Right Cardiac Catheterization.
  • Insert temporary pacemakers and perform intra aortic balloon therapy.
  • Utilize Impella Left heart support device and perform transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Manage implantable cardiac devices and perform cardioversion.
  • Conduct pericardiocentesis and diagnostic peripheral angiograms.
  • Perform peripheral and coronary interventions, Tilt table testing, Electrophysiology studies, and Ablations for Arrhythmia.
  • Conduct Intracardiac Echo (ICE).
  • Advocate for patients and provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support.
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional team to guide care delivery.
