About The Position

A Hospital in the Kansas City metro area is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry Services to join its high-performing cardiac specialty unit. The RN will provide compassionate, patient-centered care while monitoring and managing patients requiring cardiac telemetry and step-down level services. This role demands strong clinical assessment skills, the ability to interpret ECG rhythms, and quick intervention during acute cardiac events. This Level II Trauma Center offers 24/7 emergency services and is an accredited Chest Pain Center. The hospital provides comprehensive services including Orthopedics, Cancer Care, Women’s Services, Level III NICU, Stroke Center, and advanced outpatient services. It is part of a large regional healthcare network serving the Kansas City area. 36-bed Cardiac Specialty Unit Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Days: 4–5:1 Nights: 5–6:1 1 Tech per hallway Wide variety of monitored patients including: Chest Pain Stroke COPD Post-Operative patients GI conditions Accelerated heart rhythms Cardiac drips Step-down unit from PCU and Level II Trauma services Strong leadership team with growth and career advancement opportunities

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN)
  • Current Missouri RN license or multistate compact license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver therapeutic and administrative nursing services.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and intervene appropriately.
  • Provide care for patients ages 16 through geriatric populations.
  • Support safe patient care practices and identify risk mitigation opportunities.
  • Deliver care in alignment with hospital policies, procedures, and mission.
  • Acquire advanced knowledge in psychosocial, spiritual, pathophysiological, and therapeutic components of cardiac step-down care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
