About The Position

Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are better + together. Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104. Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, every other weekend and rotating holidays. Department highlights: 25-bed Cardiac Telemetry. Our Unit provides intermediate /telemetry level of care for CABG, MVR, TAVR, heart-failure, post-operative interventional cardiac care (Stents, Angioplasty, Cardiac Catheter) patients. 815-bed MAGNET facility. Level I Trauma Center. Primary Heart Attack Center PHAC. The department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skills. Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred
  • CLIAFE - must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – within 90 days of hire required – expiration date greater than 3 months preferred
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • 1-year Tele experience preferred - will consider Med/Surg experience

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
