About The Position

The New Cardiac Specialty Unit-Phase 3, Heart Cath Step Down Unit is designed to provide specialized care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures. The unit operates with a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, ensuring that each patient receives focused and attentive care. The role requires participation in Code Team activities across various departments, including MICU, NICU, SICU, PACU, ED, CCU, Peds/PICU, and L&D/Nursery, with expectations for participation after six months of hire, contingent upon successful completion of ACLS, PALS, or NRP courses as appropriate. The position emphasizes the importance of quality care and continuity in patient care delivery.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current Alabama RN license or Current Multi State RN License in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama
• BLS certification
• Participation in Code Team activities after six months of hire following successful completion of ACLS, PALS or NRP course as appropriate

Nice To Haves

• BSN/MS degree in Nursing
• Working knowledge of area
• ACLS/PALS/NRP certification is encouraged as appropriate to patient population

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates comprehensive care for designated patients to ensure quality of care and continuity of care delivery.
