About The Position

As a Registered Nurse (RN) on our Cardiac Renal Pulmonary Care Unit you will support our 18-bed tele unit specializing in the care of acute and chronic kidney patients ranging from acute kidney injury, new start dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or septic patients to any acutely-ill patient. Our med/surg cardiac patients are also stationed primarily on this unit and are connected to cardiac telemetry monitored by the RN. In addition to a fast-paced and positive environment, our unit recently won the PRIDE award which further exemplifies the outstanding nursing care our team offers!

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and educate patients and their family members.
• Administer all prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration.
• Change dressings and clean wounds.
• Monitor vital signs.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, including discharge planning needs.
