The ICU (Critical Care) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, determine the priority of the patient's problems and needs, and implement clinical nursing interventions for acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care. The RN will develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. The position involves collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducting and analyzing initial and ongoing patient assessments, creating a plan of care, implementing treatment, and evaluating treatment effectiveness. The RN must synthesize and prioritize information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action using clinical judgment and inquiry, and must anticipate and respond with confidence to rapidly changing patient conditions. Administering medications safely and in accordance with state practice and organizational policies is also a key responsibility.
