About The Position

The Cardiac Device Registered Nurse at UVA Health University Medical Center plays a pivotal role in providing specialized care to patients with cardiac devices. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • 2 years of cardiology experience preferred.
  • Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

  • Experience in managing care and implementing treatment plans at a refined skill level.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and provide specialized care to patients with cardiac devices.
  • Perform device interrogations, programming, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about cardiac device management, including remote monitoring and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Show adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and procedures.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
