About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab at St Mary’s Health Care System works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. This role is within a procedural unit consisting of two labs, focused on treating cardiac emergencies like heart attacks. The RN is responsible for assessing patients, developing, evaluating, and modifying care plans, and interpreting and performing complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise. As a professional caregiver, the RN assumes responsibility and accountability for patient care for a designated time frame, utilizing therapeutic self, the nursing process, technology, and other healthcare team members according to established standards. The position also involves facilitating all aspects of the patient visit experience, with an organizational focus on treating the whole person physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Requirements

  • A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Georgia
  • Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years
  • Must be BLS and ACLS certified thru the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Cardiac Care preferred or prior PACU, Critical Care

Responsibilities

  • Assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan
  • Interpreting and performing complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise
  • Functioning as a team member of the Care Team and Support Team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care
  • Assuming responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame
  • Providing care to patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards
  • Facilitating all aspects of the patient visit experience
