More about our team Cardiac catheterization /EP lab is a very busy place. We provide cardiac catheterization with stents and shockwave, CSI, Rota bladder, Laser, Impalla and balloon pump procedures, TEE, ablations and Cardioversions. We have same day discharge procedures that the patients will recover for 4 hours and if they meet discharge criteria, may go home. Our schedule is published one month at a time. Staff for the cardiac catheterization lab work 4 – (10-hour) shifts, on call time daily, for weekends or holidays also. On call is 2-3 days per week and every 3rd weekend, this may vary depending on vacations, etc. Conemaugh Hospital has chest pain accreditation status; therefore, we have STEMI call 24/7, 7 days per week. Staff for EP work 5 –(8-hour) shifts, no on call time, no weekends, or holidays. We prefer 2 + years’ experience with ER, ICU, PCU/telemetry How you’ll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Coordinates the Patient Care Team’s delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patients’ spiritual and cultural differences Considers factors related to safety and effectiveness of and cost in planning and delivering patient care Initiates individualized patient and family teaching. Administers medication including initiation and maintenance of IV therapy Implements physician orders and records verbal orders. Makes decisions and judgements in preventing, analyzing, and resolving patient care concerns. Reports patient status, refers problems when necessary and anticipates situations that prevent/minimize adverse outcomes Maintains competency in Pain Assessment and management of pain. Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and employee-related information. Exhibits flexibility in scheduling given the urgent case nature as well as participates in the on call coverage of the STEMI Team. Attends and participates as a minimum requirement of 6 Staff meetings annually. Reads and signs off all staff meeting minutes of meetings not attended. Participates in Performance Improvement based activities and hospital based as directed Commits to Service Excellence and continually strives toward achievement of the Standards of Care. What we’re looking for Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
  • Critical Care Course or completed within 6 months
