Position Summary: The RN has multiple roles and functions including caregiver, decision-maker, client advocate, manager, rehabilitator, comforter, communicator, and teacher. Responsible for monitoring patients undergoing interventional radiology and Cath Lab procedures. Provides quality nursing care to the patient in Radiology and Cath Lab by assessing, identifying needs, planning, implementing appropriate interventions, documenting and evaluating outcomes. Call is required.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure from the State of Oklahoma required.
  • ADN required; BSN preferred.
  • Current BLS required.
  • ALS/ACLS and PALS required within three (3) months of hire date.
  • Moderate sedation training within three (3) months of hire date.
  • Experience preferred in Cath Lab, Critical Care, PCCU and/or ER, but not limited to these areas.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to take call and respond within 30 minutes required.

Responsibilities

  • Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, educational, physical, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
  • Performs vascular and cardiac procedures not limited to monitoring patients, vital signs, cardiac monitor and level of consciousness.
  • Knowledgeable of all supplies stocked in Cath Lab such as catheters, guide wires, PTA balloon cath, IV solutions, intervention cardiac supplies (PTCA, stents) etc. assisting in maintaining Cath Lab supply levels within budgeted levels.
  • Orients instructor and trains personnel to department, procedures, equipment and supplies for IR / Cath Lab.
  • Assists with responsibility for post procedure patient care monitoring and holding arterial pressure.
