About The Position
Unit Highlights Nurses in the Cardiac Catheterization lab provide care for both out-patients and in-patients undergoing minimally invasive cardiac proceduresâ¯usingâ¯imaging guidance. Our Cardiac Catheterization procedure area includes 11 cardiac catheterization procedure labs, and pre- and post- procedure holding areas.⯠More than 19,000 interventional heart procedures including percutaneous valve repairs and more than 1,800 open heart surgeries are performed each year. The Jesse Ball DuPont Fund has recognized Washington Hospital Center as one of the busiest cardiac catheterization programs in the country. Requirements
- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Prior Clinical Nursing Experience in Cardiac ICU or Cardiac Procedural required.
- Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
Responsibilities
- As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs-from routine to highly complex.
- You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
- Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
