The role involves being a capable clinician with previous specialty experience preferred, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. The position requires consistently providing effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. The clinician seeks and provides feedback for improved clinical practice, assumes a beginning clinical bedside leadership role, and seeks mentoring in this process. The role includes participation in VOICE professional nursing shared governance, contributing to nursing quality teams, and actively participating in unit councils to improve various nursing sensitive indicators and patient experience data. New graduate clinical RNs will focus primarily on developing knowledge and skills while caring for increasingly complex patients, providing direct and safe patient care based on the nursing process, and coordinating care for assigned patients.
