Registered Nurse (RN) Cancer Center Infusion (FT M-F 8-5)
About The Position
The Cancer Center Infusion Center provides care to adult and pediatric patients with non-cancerous, hematology and/or oncology conditions. Chemotherapy administration and practices are followed using ONS guidelines and institutional policies and procedures. Protocol participation is also available. Therapies include but are not limited to: chemotherapy via ambulatory infusion pump, intravenous, intrathecal, IM or SQ route, therapeutic phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, anti-emetic therapy, IV immunotherapy and IV hydration. Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy while providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other departments for optimal continuity of care.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
- Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
- Completion of ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy required within 90 days
- OCN certification must be achieved within 3 years of hire
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience
