About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Burnet Emergency Department at Cincinnati Children's is a full-time role on the night shift. The RN will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, supporting leadership in compliance efforts, and monitoring safety and departmental policies. The RN will utilize clinical judgment to perform caring practices, collect clinical data, document care plans, and facilitate patient and family learning. The role also involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, advocacy for patients and families, and integrating age-specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate/Diploma prepared RNs from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution.
  • 2+ years of experience required.
  • If hired without a BSN or MSN, must enroll in a BSN or MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete it within 5 years.
  • Active Ohio RN License required.
  • Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit per Ohio Board of Nursing code.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN from ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution.
  • MSN degree.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Support leadership in compliance efforts to meet and sustain regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor safety and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Collect clinical data and document care plans and patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate patient and family learning through structured education.
  • Participate in shared governance and contribute to shared decision making.
  • Demonstrate consistent integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model.
  • Assess personal values and make ethical decisions on behalf of patients.
  • Integrate age-specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care.
