About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the BMH Infusion Services department is responsible for managing patient care delivery throughout their hospital stay, ensuring quality outcomes and timely discharges. This role requires adherence to established policies and procedures, as well as the Nurse Practice Act, while demonstrating competencies specific to the patient population served. The RN will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with healthcare teams to provide effective nursing care.

Requirements

• Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan.
• BLS certification required by completion of core orientation.
• Critical care or ALS certification required for some RNs, unit specific.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in infusion services or similar nursing specialties.
• Advanced certifications in nursing or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Manage care delivery for patients in the hospital throughout their length of stay.
• Assess patients' physical and developmental needs and document nursing history.
• Analyze assessment data to identify patient problems and confirm them with patients and families when appropriate.
• Develop individualized care plans and interventions based on patient input and assessment data.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and policies.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care given and document patient responses toward expected outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing educational activities related to nursing practice.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure positive outcomes.
