Beacon Health System is hiring a part-time day-shift Registered Nurse for our Center for Behavioral Medicine at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN. Our full-service, 357-licensed-bed hospital has served the community for more than 100 years with a variety of services including: Emergency Department; radiology; orthopedics; maternity, pregnancy and childbirth; behavioral health; imaging and lab; genetic counseling; DaVinci robotic surgery. As part of Beacon Health System, patients have access to providers not only at this location but can also access resources and services from across the entire health system. As a Center for Behavioral Medicine Registered Nurse, you'll report to the Manager of Patient Care Services. Provides professional nursing services. Assesses patients' needs and initiates, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care. Collaborates with other professional, clinical, and ancillary staff in providing quality care to patients.

Requirements

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana.
Candidates hired after January 1, 2014, must have or obtain a BSN within five (5) years of employment as a Registered Nurse, or will have the option to become certified in their area of specialty. The certification must be maintained based on accrediting body standards.
You bring a high level of knowledge and competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments, treatment, and techniques.
As a Registered Nurse, your advanced analytical skills are necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care.
You demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and others.
You demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, clearly and concisely.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Conduct purposeful rounding to assess, evaluate, and anticipate needs.
Participate in the review and evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of nursing care.
Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
Complete mandatory education, annual competencies and department-specific education within established timeframes.
Complete annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
