About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health Clinic. This is a non-hospital, outpatient role focused on supporting individuals with mental health and substance use needs. The RN plays a key role in providing coordinated care, health education, clinical support, and advocacy for clients receiving behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric nursing practices, psychotropic medications, and behavioral health conditions.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance for use of vehicle during work hours.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, or irregular hours, including on-call responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in behavioral health, community health, outpatient care, or related settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing assessments, health screenings, and ongoing monitoring for individuals receiving behavioral health treatment.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized treatment plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications, including injections, and complete medication education with clients.
  • Monitor for medication side effects, changes in condition, and overall health status, reporting concerns to the treatment team and providers.
  • Support crisis intervention efforts, including triage and coordination of higher-level care when needed.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with agency standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide education to clients and families regarding mental health conditions, wellness strategies, and ongoing care needs.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and quality improvement activities.
  • Promote a trauma-informed, person-centered, recovery-oriented approach in all interactions.
