This position involves performing an age-specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians and other health team members to coordinate and implement procedures and treatments. The role requires the use of leadership skills and clinical judgment in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the patient care unit team. The nurse will conduct patient interviews, explain policies, review charts, and assess various aspects of a patient's health, including physiological, psychosocial, pain management, and cultural needs. They will develop and implement individualized care plans, ensure patient safety, administer treatments and medications, and provide emotional support. Documentation, emergency response, patient and family education, and discharge planning are also key components of this role. The nurse is expected to collaborate with the care team and physicians, provide direction to other team members, and perform various skin care procedures.
