About The Position

The position involves providing nursing care to patients using the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age and developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. This role is full-time, with a schedule of 36 hours per week, and is eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care and Adult ED.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU, and NICU.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment ensuring patient privacy and professional behavior.
  • Utilize and promote the use of technology and equipment to enhance patient and staff safety.
  • Communicate effectively to promote information sharing throughout the continuum of care and as a member of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate professionalism through active participation in a professional practice model, including shared governance and peer review.
  • Perform and maintain competency for point-of-care testing as assigned, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Act as a patient advocate throughout the continuum of care.
  • Coordinate effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles.
  • Participate in shared governance and promote a healthy work environment.
