This role will be instrumental in the opening of our new cancer center in 2026, which will feature significantly expanded infusion capacity. We invite you to join our growing cancer program during this pivotal time as we build our new cancer center, featuring a significantly larger infusion unit, and develop our regional destination cancer program in West Texas. The Cancer Center Infusion Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the ambulatory oncology infusion unit's nursing and administrative functions. Key responsibilities include staff management, budgeting, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality oncology care for adult and pediatric patients. As a key member of the cancer center leadership team, you will oversee the nursing and administrative operations of the Cancer Center Infusion area. This includes comprehensive staff management, budgeting, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care for adult and pediatric patients. You'll be expected to take the initiative in all functions related to hiring, staffing, and performance management for both nursing and non-nursing team members. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring activities that impact patients and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care. In anticipation of our new facility, you’ll play a crucial role in developing our ambulatory infusion services. You will collaborate closely with the Assistant Nursing Director to build high nurse retention, engagement, and motivation.

Requirements

  • (BSN) Bachelor Science, Nursing
  • + 3 years of nursing experience; +2 years in ambulatory infusion setting preferred.
  • RN, registered with the Texas State Board of Nursing
  • BLS: Basic Life Skills Certification from American heart Association
  • ONS Certification must be obtained within 24 months of hire into the role
  • Ability to collaborative with physicians, management, and other clinical leaders and staff to promote efficient, high quality nursing care delivery consistent with UMC Health System best practice principles, assuring patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and provider efficiency.
  • Functional knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and therapies
  • Ability to communicate patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes, with empathy and influence
  • Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position requires interaction with medical staff in the hospital and external entities that extend resources and care for cancer patients

Nice To Haves
