Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Provides routine, standardized nursing care for patients under the supervision of the physician. This position is primarily to support the Upstate PACE program - a unique program dedicated to caring for seniors every day, offering a variety of services. When there are no needs at PACE you would be required to float throughout the Upstate physician practices. Must have at least one year of experience working with senior patients. The Ambulatory Internal Resource Pool consists of full-time, part-time and PRN team members that work short term assignments at any of our medical offices in Greenville and the surrounding areas. The assignments can be as short as 1 day and as long as 12 weeks. This position does offer a float differential on top of the experience based hourly pay rate and requires one year or more experience.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Accredited school of nursing with RN degree
  • 1-2 years experience preferred
  • South Carolina RN License (Lawson Code NLRN)
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
  • Data Entry
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020 are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements. In addition, team members must be certification eligible and will have one year to obtain required certification(s).

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other activities related to direct patient care. - 20%
  • Arranges for patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals and admission to hospital. - 10%
  • Monitors and maintains stock of medical supplies and proper functioning of equipment. - 10%
  • Documents patient's vital statistics and other encounter data into patient chart and ensures that all required records are in the chart. Obtains brief medical history and chief complaint from patients. - 15%
  • Calls in prescriptions for patients according to physician order. - 10%
  • Prepares exam rooms with appropriate instruments, supplies and equipment. Cleans exam rooms between procedures and exams. - 10%
  • Receives and returns clinically related telephone calls; screening and forwarding those requiring physician action. - 10%
  • Completes medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies. - 10%
  • Informs physician of changes in schedule. - 5%
