Duke University Health System seeks to hire a Registered Nurse (new or experienced) who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together. Unit 8100 is an adult medicine stepdown unit comprised of 16 beds. Our team of nursing staff provide exemplary care for a variety of complex patients with varying diagnosis such as sepsis, sickle cell, GI bleed, end stage renal failure, diabetes, cirrhosis, and behavioral health disorders. Department Highlights: RN to Patient Ratio is 1:3-5 A diverse patient population is GREAT for new nurses who are still unsure about what route they want to take as a nurse, as it allows you to grow and strengthen your skills, build confidence, and learn about many different disease processes. Unit has Sunshine Committee that schedules events for the unit to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Great transition to ICU - ICU Manager has reached out to get RNs specifically from 4100 Extraordinary unit culture that embraces each team member - a sense of belonging. Work Schedule: Full time - 36 hours/week. Three (3) 12-hour shifts. Rotating Day / Night Shift What you will do: As a Clinical Nurse in Duke University Health System, you will plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with the medical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
