New Graduate RN, Adult ED Academy (Spring Cohort)
About The Position
Our Emergency Department New Graduate Academy is a structured transition-to-practice program designed to help new nurses build confidence, competence, and clinical expertise in a fast-paced ED setting. The program includes a comprehensive orientation with dedicated preceptors, simulation-based labs, and focused clinical skills training. Class time is integrated with unit experience to ensure you're well-prepared for independent practice. During onboarding, you'll also earn life support and resuscitation certifications. The Emergency Department at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a Level I adult and pediatric trauma center that provides emergency healthcare for all types of injuries and illnesses, from life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks or strokes to flu and viral illnesses. Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a pre-eminent academic health system based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS are required within 6 months of hire
Responsibilities
- As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
