About The Position

The Admission Discharge Unit at High Point Medical Center, part of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, is a six-bed unit dedicated to medical-surgical level of care patients. These patients are either awaiting admission from the Emergency Department, direct admission, or the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), or are in the process of discharge. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will be a skilled and compassionate professional, playing a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care. This involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in strict accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Your role will also encompass applying evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and effective communication skills. You will lead efforts to foster the safest patient environment and ensure the best possible patient experience across the entire continuum of care. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Greater than 1 year of RN experience

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
